MINISTRIES

No matter the age – there are multiple ways to grow spiritually here at Living Water. Take a look below and see how you can get plugged in and grow with your church family.

  • AGE 0 - 4

    Staffed Nursery
Staffed Nursery available during the Message portion of our Worship Services. Questions? Ask our Allison Domsch, Sunday School Leader – allison@livingwateromaha.org.

What can you expect for your 0-4 year old at Living Water?
Children receive the love of Christ through the care and nurturing of parents. They are, firstly and joyfully, brought into the church through baptism. They become comfortable in worship by being with parents, and experience the joy of community (through play, singing, donuts, etc). They witness worship. They learn the basics of faith primarily from parents. In worship, we have a staffed Nursery available during the sermon, so parents can be fed God’s Word without distraction – so they can in turn feed their own families.

  • PRE-K - 4TH GRADE

    SUNDAY SCHOOL
Kids are invited to have fun and learn about Jesus during the Message portion of our Worship Services!

    VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Each summer, your children are invited to have fun and learn about who they are in Christ! Details are made available in the springtime. Question? Ask Pastor Joe (joe@livingwateromaha.org)

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FOR YOUR PRE-K – 4TH GRADER AT LIVING WATER?
At this age, young children begin to actively participate in the life of the church by serving alongside parents (Greeters, Hospitality, etc). Along with enjoying worship, we will offer Sunday School for age appropriate learning for children – this occurs during the sermon. Parents are encouraged to review what they learned and discuss around the family table, on the road, etc – so that faith learning occurs beyond Sunday. We also plan periodical events like VBS, advent activities, etc – to provide learning that engages all of the senses.

  • MIDDLE SCHOOL

    CONNECT NIGHTS
On Wednesdays, students meet together weekly during the school year during our ConnectNights to grow together in relationally focused Bible Studies.

    CONFIRMATION
Confirmation may begin as early at 5th grade, as parents have intentional conversations in the home, while meeting together monthly. Confirmation families meet with the pastors, diving into the basics of faith on the second Sunday of the month, starting in August until May. Confirmation Sign Up for the following Fall usually begins in May. Questions? Contact Pastor Joe.

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FOR YOUR MIDDLE SCHOOLER AT LIVING WATER?
Participation in the life of the church expands to helping in nursery, being a VBS leader, etc. Contact Pastor Joe if you are interested in opportunities! In addition, there will be more intentional opportunities to grow together in age and faith (Connect Nights, Confirmation, etc) There will also be occasional Connect Events for middle schoolers to focus on growing in their relationships together, while providing opportunities to invite friends to experience connection (pool parties, movie nights, etc).

  • HIGH SCHOOL

    Youth Group
For a list of events and happenings for High Schoolers, contact Pastor Mark.

What can you expect for your high schooler at Living Water?
Participation in the church expands, as does responsibility, in being in the Youth Worship Band, teaching Sunday School, leading VBS, etc. There are also frequent Connect Events that focus more on growing in their relationships together, and provide opportunities to invite friends to experience connection. In addition, we will go to the National Youth Gathering of the LCMS, July 19 – 23, 2025 in New Orleans.

    Mission Opportunities
At Living Water, we believe our main mission is to our families and neighbors. We are called to love them and witness to them. How are you intentional in doing so?

Beyond our neighbors, as our individual missional calling, we see the benefit in doing good as a collective church. As we come together, we can bless others in ways we cannot do on our own. Below are some of the partnerships we have for local missions:

    Lydia House Mission Team
Every month, come join us as we love on the residents of Lydia House downtown. Lydia House is a temporary residence for many families, children, single women and some men sometimes from different walks of life.  Some people are there to escape domestic abuse, others are there to get clean and sober, others are there because they lost their children and they’re trying to reunify with them, others are just simply in hard times and homeless. For more information, contact Tammy Latimer – 5.latimers@gmail.com.

    Project Harmony
Project Harmony was originally established to help children who have been abused. Since then, they have expanded their programs. One program we are partnering with Project Harmony is to help end Human-Trafficking here in Omaha and care for those who have been victimized. To learn more, contact Pastor Mark – mark@livingwateromaha.org.

What to expect as an adult participating in ministries at Living Water?
Here at Living Water we believe our primary responsibility is living as a child of God, and for parents to raise their children in the faith. We are to live from an overflow of God’s grace. We are invited to give of ourselves in service to other Christians, to use our gifts, time and money for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. We are to continue growing as a disciple of Jesus. Through any of our BIble Studies, Men’s or Women’s Groups, there are many ways – to grow deeper with others and discuss issues of life that require greater vulnerability. For a list of upcoming events, check out our Events page.

Additionally, there will be greater opportunities for missions, local and abroad. However, our mission begins with loving our neighbors and witnessing to them.
